Dog walk opening

Our Paws in the Park dog walk and pet expo on Sept. 25 at Centennial Olympic Park was a howling good time by all reports and raised more than $140,000 for Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption’s (APRA) ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts. Presented by The Coca-Cola Company, the event focused on active, healthy lifestyles for humans and their pets.

Nearly 450 people registered for the dog walk, raising the majority of funds that made the event such an overwhelming success. The four French Bulldogs we rescued in July reunited to serve as honorary grand marshals, leading the walk with their new owners and foster moms.

The 5-hour expo featured more than 70 pet-related vendors and rescue groups. Among them was Victoria Stilwell Positively whose trainers Read More...

Maria Hill and her friends usually organize a happy hour or supper club at least once a month, so she decided she would host one as a fundraiser for Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption (APRA) leading up to Paws in the Park.

P’Cheen in Inman Park graciously agreed to serve as the venue with owner and animal lover Keiran Neely arranging for one of the restaurant’s wine representatives to donate a case of champagne so a specialty drink made with the champagne could be offered for $5 on the night of the event.

Guests also could purchase raffle tickets for $5 each for the chance to win great prizes donated by Miller Union, Lila Boutique, Nandina Home & Design, Douglas & Co. Salon, Highland Bakery and Baraonda/Baroni.

Thanks to Maria’s family and friends, P’Cheen’s Cheshire Read More...

Have you been following the story of the four abandoned French Bulldogs that we rescued in July? Would you like to see them in person and tell them that they are beautiful princesses? We are very pleased to announce that all four of the Frenchies - Isabella, Gotham (formerly Giselle), Gabrielle, and Pearl (formerly Brigitte) – will be reunited at Paws in the Park this Sunday at Centennial Olympic Park.

The Frenchies will be together on stage at 2:15 p.m. during welcoming ceremonies and then will lead the dog walk as Honorary Grand Marshalls.

Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption is very grateful to have had the opportunity to help these  four little girls who had been so horribly neglected. They came Read More...

In addition to serving as Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption’s (APRA) primary fundraiser for 2011, we intend for Paws in the Park to highlight the importance of active, healthy lifestyles for humans and their pets. So imagine our delight when The Coca-Cola Company decided to serve as the event’s presenting sponsor.

As a company, Coca-Cola cares about people’s well-being and wants to make a positive difference in their lives, both physically and emotionally. That’s why they sponsor programs that encourage active, healthy living all over the world. We are thrilled that the company decided to support Paws in the Park Atlanta!

Victoria Stilwell, host of Animal Planet’s international hit It’s Me or the Dog, had great hopes for attending Paws in the Park. Unfortunately, her production schedule in New York has kept her out of town through this weekend. So, she chose to send a couple of messages to let you know more about the choke, prong and shock collar turn-in we are hosting at Paws in the Park.
